Using synthetic fibres as alternative for steel mesh made the job much quicker, safer and more environmental friendly.




Durus EasyFinish – Crackstop

The Scheldt bridge in Temse is the longest bridge over water with a combined traffic of railways and cars. For the renovation the contractor was asked to install a crack-free and watertight pressure layer between the constructive concrete and the asphalt top layers.

The 4kg/m³ dosage of macro #synthetic #fibres and an extra 600g of micro synthetic fibres made this an efficient and easy job with good results.

This solution replaced a steel mesh and eliminated the risk for corrosion. The variable thickness of the pressure layer would have make the correct installation of a steel mesh almost impossible.
